Is it okay if I've never cooked or made confectioneries before?
No worries. Upon entering Tsujicho Group, you will learn the basics of cooking and confectionery production/ baking. Some may ask, “Can I become a professional even if I’m clumsy?”, but the most important thing is your will and conscience to strive to learn the techniques needed as a professional.
Can International students enter the school?
There are a number of International students studying at Tsuji Culinary Institute and Tsuji Culinary Institute Tokyo.

Classes/Courses

Will students be assigned an instructor-in-charge?
Each class will have an instructor-in-charge. Your instructor-in-charge will be in charge of following up on student life as well. Attendance will be monitored by the teachers and they will also give students guidance with job hunting and student life.
Is it okay if I’ve never held a knife before?
No problem. Most students who enter the school have zero experience with cookery and confectionery. The first step in class is learning the basics of cooking instruments, such as how to hold and sharpen knives. Instructors will carefully teach you, so there is no need to worry.
How are the practical training classes conducted?
I’m worried I may not be able to keep up with the practical training.
Our school’s practical training classes are taught by professionals who will thoroughly teach the basic techniques to non-experienced students.
There’s no need to worry.
At first, you will slowly learn the basics, such as how to handle knives and other cooking instruments so there is no need to worry. The style of our school is that you will not immediately start cooking or baking, but will watch your instructors who will cook/bake as they theoretically explain things to you. By teaching this way, students will not only learn how to cook, but will also understand how to cook cuisines with the ideal flavoring. Furthermore, in the practical training facilities, a few well experienced instructors will coach the students at once, so that each student can receive the proper advise according to his/her degree of skill. This will allow students to steadily learn the techniques of professionals.

Tuition Fees

Are there other costs besides tuition?
Besides tuition, you will be required to spend money on text books, a white robe, a set of knives, Compitum (Tsujicho Group’s alumni association) fee, and an accident insurance. Prices vary according to the school. Practical training material fees are included in the tuition, so the only costs you will need to bear are tuition and miscellaneous expenses. For further details, please refer to the Tuition page.

Apartments

Can you refer apartments (residencies) for us?
We will refer apartments for you through National Students Information Center (Nasic). Tsujicho Group will refer students to residencies in alliance with National Students Information Center (Nasic). Nasic has been supporting us for many years and is able to introduce a safe residency for students, such as apartments with reliable landlords or 24hour security support, etc. An application form is included in your admittance letter.
